Tommy

A British Lass found Tommy, a sad young male with mange, hanging around her guesthouse. He was not faring well on the streets. He seemed to have been an owned dog, possibly a guard dog, who had been dumped. Tommy was brought to the shelter where he was treated for mange and “tick-borne erlichia cannis” infection. When he recovered and was neutered and vaccinated, we tried to take him back to the location where he was initially found but he just kept returning to the shelter. Tommy did not get on well inside the shelter – with the other dogs or humans – and just wanted to get out. So as a happy compromise, he now lives just outside the shelter. He gets fed twice per day and occasionally wanders away. But generally he can be found basking in the sun about 10m from the shelter gate. Sadly, he died on 12 December 2021.
