Sushi was picked up in Akashi Dara on 11 November 2020, suffering from a tight string around her neck that had cut in deeply. After cleaning the wound and getting it to fully heal, we found she still wasn’t very well, so she had a blood test. Kidney failure was diagnosed with a very high creatinine reading. She was put onto daily saline under the skin to help flush the kidneys, after a month her creatinine levels had dropped from 8.3 to 3.3 (should be 1.8), so we continued the saline for two more weeks. She was a gentle happy dog and made a remarkable recovery. Sadly, she escaped from the shelter in March 2021 and we couldn’t find her.
