Billy arrived at the centre in very poor condition in March 2014. He was severely malnourished, being the lone surviving pup of an elderly mother suffering from CTVT. He had to be taken off mum so that she could be treated with chemotherapy (she is still living, contented and healthy, with a daughter from a previous litter, at a local tea house.) Meanwhile, Billy grew into a strong, healthy boy. Energetic, vocal and black in colour, he and his best mate, Milly, kept everyone – dogs and people alike – busy in the shelter. Sadly, he died during the night of 24 December 2020.
