Tsundu was brought in to the Centre in August 2020 by a Buddhist monk called Lama Namkha. She was a young puppy and was entrusted to our care. She was spayed and has been vaccinated and needs a good home. She was sponsored by Lama Namkha for several years but is now available for sponsoring or adoption.
In mid 2014, a young Tamang man, Sujet, called Kate to look at an adolescent, husky type dog that had been slashed across the back. Zhumri was bought in by Tsering on 8 August 2023 with an eye problem. He needs regular eye treatment but otherwise is ok. He will stay in the Centre but needs a sponsor.
Bhote was brought to us by Rudra on 24 November 2023 from Gurung Tole. He had an injured back leg and low platelets. Not really a street dog, rather an abandoned owned dog, he made a good recovery and will stay in the Centre. He needs a sponsor and is unlikely to be adopted.
Kale Besigaun was picked up in Besigaun on 31 October 2023 in poor condition. Good food and care made a big difference and he is now a happy member of the community, and will probably stay here for the rest of his life. He is being sponsored by Jayne from the UK.
Rokpa was brought to us by Sangye from near Ram Hiti on 9 July 2023, very matted hair with maggots, and was also found to have TVT. Now treated and much better, he will stay in the Centre unless adopted. We think he had been an owned dog and put out when he became sick.
Lopsang was rescued from Paika in Kapan on3 February 2024 suffering from a large tumur on his side. Taken straight to AMC he was operated on and the tumour removed. An old dog, we won’t put him back on the street and he can remain in the centre. He needs a sponsor.
Nicky was found on 19 January 2024 with a broken leg and also overweight. Animal Medical Centre carried out a major operation inserting a steel plate to hold the leg bone in place. He has been returned to the street on 1st March 2024 and was welcomed back by the community.
Katu arrived on 15 February 2024 from KAT Centre with two damaged legs. On 9th March, Dr Sushil was preparing to carry out surgery on the front leg when it was noticed that he had distemper signs.
